On Friday October 30, 2015 Juliane Johannsen wrote an
article called “The role of the woman in the U.S national government” in her
blog Juliane Johannsen Where are We heading?. She did a great job at presenting
the facts right away and getting straight to her thoughts on this issue. I
think it is very important for someone to not beat around the bush in their
article and make sure that they have a strong opening stance. Also the facts
that Johannsen had presented in her article were very shocking and the fact
that there isn’t even a diverse woman representation in the government is sad.
The fact that the U.S is ranked 76 out of 148 is crazy we are supposed to be the
land of possibilities yet it still seems like you have to be a man to get what
you want. It too also raised the question on why the U.S. was in such a low
position for having women in the national government. I completely agree with
Juliane Johannsen’s argument and she did a great job at supporting her
argument. The sentence that stuck out the most to me in her blog post was the
very last sentence, “With Hillary Clinton campaigning as the next president of
the United States of America, the political role of the woman might change in
the future”. This shows that even though the statics and numbers are low there
is still hope for the women in America to one day be in the national government
and to me having hope is the most important thing. Juliane Johannsen has the
perfect opening and ending to this post.
